Robson speaks of Newcastle United sadness
Sir Bobby Robson has spoke of his sadness at the state of affairs at Newcastle United Football Club.
The St James Park club are in a state of turmoil following Kevin Keegan's resignation in September, with Mike Ashley coming in for fierce criticism from the Toon Army who blame him for his exit.
Owner Ashley has since put the club up for sale, Joe Kinnear has been put in interim charge of the team, and with United currently in the bottom three, Robson is heartbroken.
"There are all sorts of words you could use to describe what's happened - and some have been vitriolic - but the one I'd use to express what I feel about the club is sadness," Robson said in The Times.
"It's just sad how a big, magnificent club like it is could have reached this point."
