Branislav Ivanovic is set to be handed a new contract at Chelsea Football Club.

The Serbian international defender made a slow start to England following his move to Stamford Bridge in January 2008, but he has become a regular under Carlo Ancelotti.

Ivanovic is out of contract at the end of next season, and his agent recently confirmed reports that Spanish giants Real Madrid are keen to take him to the Bernabeu.

However, it is being reported that the current FA Cup holders are preparing a new deal for the 25-year-old former Lokomotiv Moscow ace, which he is understood to be keen to sign.
