Roberto Martinez was relatively pleased with his Wigan Athletic Football Club players on Boxing Day.

The Latics trailed Blackburn Rovers after a below-par first half performance at the DW Stadium, but a marked improvement in the second half saw a Hugo Rodallega goal secure a 1-1 draw.

"I think we were not happy with our first-half performance. We dropped our standards. Our second half was much better," said Martinez. "We created enough chances to win the game.

“Overall it's about the second half. The reaction was there. Very pleased with the reaction and we'll build on that. The way we finished the game was how we need to start games."
