Everton boss targets loan market
11:00 AM 29 December, 2009
David Moyes admits Everton Football Club are pinning their hopes on the loan market in January.

As much as the Toffees manager would like to add to his squad in the New Year, he accepts the financial situation of the club means temporary signings may be his only option.

“I'm going for loans as that's where we are financially. It frustrates me that other teams have spent big but that's been the case in other years when we've finished fifth,” said Moyes.

"It's been tougher this year because we've found it too difficult to cope with so many people injured. Spending will always help you but it's been proved that money isn't always the be-all and end-all."

A 2-0 win over Burnley on Monday afternoon relieved much pressure on the Goodison Park club, who are now eleventh place in the Premier League table heading into 2010.
