Chelsea ready to make shock move for Heskey
07:00 PM 29 December, 2009
Chelsea Football Club have been linked with a move for Emile Heskey.

As has been well documented, the Stamford Bridge club will lose main striker Didier Drogba in January, when he spends the month at the African Cup of Nations.

Although Carlo Ancelotti insists he will not be signing a new forward, The Mirror hint the Italian will challenge Liverpool for the signature of Heskey, a former Anfield star.

The England international has struggled to nail down a regular place in the Aston Villa side since signing from Wigan Athletic last January, and earlier this season hinted at a winter change.

Martin O’Neill, though, is likely to do all he can to keep the 31-year-old at Villa Park, as he looks to cement a place in the Premier League’s top-four this season.
