Vermaelen hails Arsenal skipper
06:08 PM 29 December, 2009
Thomas Vermaelen is full of praise for Arsenal Football Club skipper Cesc Fabregas.

The Spanish international once again proved his quality for the Gunners on Sunday, when he came off the bench to break the deadlock by scoring twice against Aston Villa.

Fabregas suffered a recurrence of his hamstring injury in the same game, and Vermaelen is clearly hoping the midfielder makes a speedy recover to action.

"He is the best midfielder I have played alongside," he told the official club website. “In training he's really difficult to defend against because I think he has eyes in the back of his head.

“He sees everything. He is a good captain too. He has a lot of qualities in football and I think that's important for a captain. He talks in the dressing room, not too much but just enough.”
