Alex McLeish has jokingly played down the quality of his goalkeeper Joe Hart, as he tries to secure a permanent deal for the Manchester City Football Club goalkeeper.

The 22-year-old has starred for Birmingham City this season as they climb the Premier League table, and the Blues are keen to make his loan move permanent.

"I'd rate him about 10th in the Premier League - we want a cheap deal!" said McLeish. "His form's been brilliant and he looks a big, powerful bloke.

“Possibly, the fee might be too much, but a bigger club could still have their sights on him. Sometimes a situation like this arises. But Joe might feel he wants to come to Birmingham.”
