Zenit St Petersburg are said to be interested in signing Peter Crouch in the New Year.

The Russian giants are in the market for a new striker in the winter, and Roman Pavlyuchenko, the Tottenham Hotspur striker, is said to be their number one target.

However, reports in The Daily Mail claim if Zenit fail to take the former Spartak Moscow man, their attention will remain at White Hart Lane in the shape of Crouch.

The likelihood of Harry Redknapp selling the England international, though, has to be described as almost zero, as he has impressed since returning to the club in the summer.

The Spurs manager forked out around £10million to sign the 28-year-old from Portsmouth in the summer, and he has responded with four Premier League goals so far.
