Portsmouth Football Club have taken an interest in Scott McDonald, according to reports.

The Australian international was a target for Wigan Athletic in the summer, and Roberto Martinez is expected to renew his interest when the January window opens.

However, the Latics boss is set to face competition from a rival Premier League struggler, with the Herald claiming Pompey are keen to take the 26-year-old.

McDonald has again impressed for Celtic this season, having found the back of the net eight times in fifteen league starts, and Tony Mowbray will be keen to keep him at Parkhead.
