Tom Soares hopes to have won a run in the Stoke City Football Club side.
The 22-year-old made his first start for the Premier League new-boys against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, and he certainly played his part in the 2-1 win at the Britannia Stadium.
"I think I did a pretty good job and have given the gaffer a hard time picking the team," he told Stoke's official website. "I'm glad I had the chance to show the fans what I can offer the team.
"I found out I was playing in the dressing room before the game. The manager told me on Saturday there was a possibility that I could be involved so I made sure I was prepared for it.
"It was great to get a chance. Hopefully I can stay in the team. I thought I coped pretty well. I won two penalties and created a couple of chances. The main thing is that we got the three points."
