Roberto Martinez was furious with his Wigan Athletic flops on Wednesday night.

For the fifth time this season the Latics conceded more than four times in a match, as they proved easy meat to Manchester United, who beat them 5-0 for the second time this term.

This result leave the DW Stadium club just a point above the relegation zone, and Martinez has made it clear that such a performance is simply unacceptable.

“We never gave a game to United," the Spaniard told Sky Sports. "We were extremely, extremely disappointing in all the things we have to do to be a team.

"You come to places like Old Trafford and it's not good enough to be good - you have to be perfect and be solid and earn the right to express yourself and try to win the football game.

“We played like individuals and never looked like a team and when you do that you get heavily punished. It has happened too many times this season and it's unacceptable.”
