West Ham United Football Club insist Valon Behrami is simply not for sale.

The Swiss international is a key member of the Hammers makeup, and he is sure to play a major role in their bid to avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.

It was somewhat surprising, then, to hear of speculation linking Behrami with a swap deal involving Palermo goalkeeper Rubinho, and less so that the Londoners have rubbished these claims.

“What makes people think we could swap Behrami for Rubinho?" Gianluca Nani, the Upton Park’s clubs technical director, told Mediterraneonline.it.

"Behrami is absolutely non-transferable, not for any price, no-one has any idea what price we would value him at anyway. The possibility of an exchange with Rubinho does not exist at all."
