Claudio Ranieri is delighted to add Luca Toni to his Roma squad.

The Italian international has fallen out of favour at Bayern Munich, and made no secret of his desire to return to Serie A during the World Cup season.

Toni, 32-years-old, has now sealed a loan move to the capital for the rest of the campaign, and Ranieri is thrilled to welcome the striker to his Giallorossi plans.

"Toni is a player that we needed at Roma," he told Corriere Dello Sport. "He is very strong in the penalty box. He is definitely a strong arrow in our bow.”
