Asmir Begovic will not be joining Tottenham Hotspur Football Club this month.

Harry Redknapp has been heavily linked with his former Portsmouth reserve goalkeeper, as he looks for back-up and competition for White Hart Lane number one Heurelho Gomes.

However, Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie has hit back at suggestions Begovic could be on his way to London, insisting the Bosnian has a long future at Fratton Park.

"It's absolute rubbish that Asmir will be leaving us. We haven't even heard anything from Spurs,” he told The News. "This lad is the future of this football club and he can go on and on.”
