Ryan Shawcross has entered Manchester City Football Club’s thinking.

The former Manchester United youngster has been a revelation since quitting Old Trafford for Stoke City, where he is under contract until the summer of 2013.

Indeed, he has been so impressive he was even linked with a return to the Reds earlier this season, whilst Liverpool were also said to be taking an interest in him.

And according to the Sunday Mirror, Shawcross has now been drawn to the attention of Roberto Mancini, who wants to add more steel to the heart of his Eastlands back four.

It is being suggested that the 22-year-old could be a target for the Blues during the winter transfer window, as they once again look to flex their financial muscle.
