Sunderland willing to take Bentley chance
Sunderland Football Club are willing to take a chance on David Bentley.
As the footballing world prepares for the World Cup Finals in the summer, the chances of the 25-year-old making Fabio Capello’s squad are virtually zero.
This was meant to be a tournament in which Bentley would compete for a right-midfield berth, particularly after his £15million move to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2008.
But the former Blackburn Rovers player has flopped spectacularly at White Hart Lane, leading to Harry Redknapp being happy to listen to offers for him this winter.
Reports in The Sun claim Steve Bruce is willing to take a chance on Bentley, although the Stadium of Light boss could face competition from Atletico Madrid.
