Birmingham City step up Boyd interest
Birmingham City Football Club are set to step up their interest in Kris Boyd.
There seems little doubt that the in-form striker, who has worked with Alex McLeish at Rangers and Scotland, is the Blues top target for the New Year.
Indeed, the Premier League side almost signed the former Kilmarnock man in the summer of £2.5million, only for the player to snub personal terms.
Armed with a £40million transfer kitty this month, McLeish is now hoping to land Boyd for just £1.5million, as he enters the final six months of his contract at Ibrox.
Newcastle United, currently leading the Championship, are also interested, but the way City have performed in the top-flight this season makes them firm favourites.
