Arsenal and Manchester United both want to sign Adam Matthews, according to Peter Ridsdale.

Te 17-year-old defender has made fourteen starts in the Championship for Cardiff City this season, and his performances have caught the attention of Messrs Wenger and Ferguson.

"We have had two or three enquiries and I know Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in the lad," City chairman Ridsdale told Wales Online.

"But there is no agreement with any club, verbal or otherwise. We want Adam to stay with Cardiff and that's what we are hoping will happen. We don't want to let any key players go."
