Andrea Dossena is on the verge of joining Napoli.

The 28-year-old has failed to settle in England following his £7million move from Udinese last summer, although he did score memorable goals against Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Dossena has been hankering after a return to Italy for some time, and although a move to Napoli had reportedly broke down, it has now well and truly been resurrected.

"I believe the player will arrive in Napoli tomorrow," agent Roberto La Florio told Tuttomercatoweb. "The player will arrive on a permanent basis with a contract for four-and-a-half years.”

It is believed the fee for the transfer will be in the region of £4.5million, which can be considered a decent amount, which Rafael Benitez will hope can be reinvested in his squad.
