Allardyce wants Gudjohnsen reunion
12:30 PM 06 January, 2010
Sam Allardyce hopes to lure Eidur Gudjohnsen to Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

The Icelandic international enjoyed a fine spell in England from 1998 to 2006, the first two years of which were served under Big Sam at Bolton Wanderers.

A move to Chelsea followed, where he won two Premier League titles under Jose Mourinho, before leaving the Premier League for Barcelona in the summer of 2006.

Gudjohnsen is currently plying his trade in another nation, France with Monaco, but he has failed to settle in Ligue 1 and has been linked with a winter exit.

Although his agent and father, Arnor, recently insisted that the 31-year-old is staying put for now, he has been linked with a loan move to Ewood Park.

Ideally, Allardyce would love to take Gudjohnsen on a permanent basis, but he would have to offload first to raise funds, so a temporary switch would suit.
