Aston Villa alerted to cut-price Bentley
12:00 PM 08 January, 2010
Martin O’Neill could be tempted to move for David Bentley, following claims Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have dropped their asking price.

The England international has been a major disappointment at White Hart Lane following his £15million move from Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2008.

Although Harry Redknapp is hardly desperate to offload the midfielder, he is prepared to listen to offers, and the Evening Standard claims he could be temped to sell at £10million.

It has been suggested that this has led to interest from O’Neill’s Aston Villa, which would be the perfect move for Bentley as he looks to relaunch his career.

The Villa Park side have built a squad full of talented English players such as James Milner, Ashley Young and Gabriel Agbonlahor, who the Spurs flop would relish linking up with.

I dont think we have need of bentley while he may be good we have more than enough talent for the wings 10 million is a bit much to ask for a player who has barely played a game this season.Stephen Ireland would be awesome if he came.
