Birmingham City Football Club are set to finally sign Michel this month.

Alex McLeish was keen on the midfield playmaker in the summer, but he could not agree a fee with Sporting Gijon for his signature.

Armed with Carson Yeung’s millions following the Hong Kong businessman’s takeover of the Blues, the Scot has now returned with a bid of £3million.

Gijon have confirmed this has been accepted, and Michel, 24, is ready to jet to England to discuss personal terms with the Premier League high-fliers.
