Roberto Mancini insists Micah Richards has a future at Manchester City Football Club.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with making a £12million bid for the England international defender, but Mancini has vowed to keep him at Eastlands.

"How could I afford to lose Micah? We have only four fit defenders at the moment," the Italian tactician told the club's official website.

"Anyway, I rate him very highly, he has played for England and has great potential for the future. It is important that he stays."
