Avram Grant is determined to keep his Portsmouth Football Club squad together.

The Premier League’s bottom club could lose a number of their stars this month, as they continue to fight their precarious financial situation.

David James, Younes Kaboul, John Utaka and Nadir Belhadj have all been linked with moves, but Grant has told his board they have to keep his squad together.

"From a football point of view, we cannot afford to lose any players, absolutely not,” he said. "We need to keep all the players, we even need to bring two or three more in.

"I don't like to buy players in January, but because of the situation on the pitch, we need players. Even if I cannot buy players, we still need to stick with this squad."
