Harry Redknapp admits he is unsure when Jonathan Woodgate will return to action for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

The injury-riddled England defender has been sidelined with a groin injury for some time, and he has only managed to play three times in the Premier League this season.

Spurs are struggling to get to the root of the problem, and Redknapp admits he is concerned over the former Middlesbrough star.

“He is not able to train at the moment," he said. "It is just a case of trying to get to the bottom of what is causing the problem. He has had a few operations on that area.

“We are finding it difficult to solve the problem. He wants to play football as much as anybody, more than anybody. But hopefully in a couple of weeks it could go away in the same way as it came.

"They feel that the strengthening work that they are doing now is starting to show some signs of improvement, we just hope that that's going to do the trick for him now."
