Manuel Almunia is desperate for Arsenal Football Club to win the league this season.

A 2-2 home draw with Everton has prevented the Gunners from leapfrogging Manchester United into second place in the Premier League, but they are still handily placed.

Having gotten over an early season blip Arsene Wenger’s side are just three points behind leaders Chelsea, and Almunia believes they can go all the way this term.

“It is the biggest trophy domestically and has great tradition," he said. "We will fight for every one of the three competitions we are still in, but we are especially hungry for the league trophy.”
