Birmingham City resigned to Jones defeat
Birmingham City Football Club are set to give up in their pursuit of Kenwyne Jones.
Alex McLeish is eager to sign a new striker in the winter, and armed with Carson Yeung’s kitty of £40million, Trinidad & Tobago international Jones is his top target.
An offer of £10million has reportedly already been rejected by Sunderland who, despite publicly stating the player is not for sale, are said to be looking for around £14million.
This is a fee the Blues are refusing to pay for the 25-year-old, and they will not turn their attentions elsewhere, with Wigan Athletic’s Hugo Rodallega a potential option.
