Bolton Wanderers Football Club’s chances of signing Benjani are on the wane.

The Zimbabwean international is believed to be a target for Owen Coyle and the Reebok Stadium club, with an offer expected to be made during the winter window.

Benjani was well on the outside at Eastlands under Mark Hughes but he has played in Roberto Mancini’s last two games, leading the 31-year-old to rule out an exit this month.

“I’ve always wanted to see out my career at City,” the former Portsmouth man told the official club site. “I have six months left on my current deal and it would be nice if I could get another year.”
