David Moyes is keen to add another striker to his ranks this month, as he looks to make the best out of a season which started disappointingly slow.

McCarthy is looking to leave Blackburn Rovers during the transfer window as he seeks the regular first team football he feels will cement his place in South Africa’s World Cup squad.

Reports suggest the Toffees are plotting an offer for the 32-year-old, however, it is likely they would want to negotiate on Rovers valuation of £2.5million.
