Tottenham Hotspur Football Club are keeping tabs on Joe Cole’s contract situation.

Harry Redknapp is a huge fan of the England international, having introduced him to first team football during his stint in charge of West Ham United.

Cole was sold to Chelsea in 2003 for a bargain £6.6million, but he is now in the final six months of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

The Daily Star claim talks over a new deal are not progressing as either party would like, with the Blues refusing to meet the 28-year-old’s demands of £130,000-per-week.

This has reportedly alerted Redknapp, who would love to take him to White Hart Lane, and would be willing to make him the club’s top earner to do so.
