Sunderland Football Club may have to fend off interest in Lorik Cana this month.

The 26-year-old Albanian international has been an excellent signing for Steve Bruce, who paid £5million to take him from Marseille in the summer.

Cana has already been installed as Black Cats skipper, but his form hasn’t gone unnoticed back in France, where Lyon are said to be interested.

Claude Puel has, according to The Journal, made the midfielder a top target after missing out on Patrick Vieira, but it is highly unlikely Bruce would entertain any offers.
