Nery Castillo is heading back to Manchester City Football Club.

The on-loan Shakhtar Donetsk striker has been in talks with Mexican side Guadalajara about a return to his homeland, but the deal could not be completed before Monday's deadline.

"There was no time to register him with the Conmebol. We couldn't do it in such a hurry," his agent Juan Carlos Padilla said following the collapse of the transfer.

"There was good will from Guadalajara, Shakhtar and Manchester City but we couldn't do it. Nery spoke to (Guadalajara president) and he would like to move back soon. But we have to analyse every offer."
