Michael Chopra will not be rejoining Newcastle United Football Club.

The former England Under-21 international began his career at St James Park, yet he managed just 21 Premier League games during his time with the club.

He fared much better when he joined Cardiff City, the club he is back with following a spell at Sunderland, and he has now been linked with a return to Tyneside.

However, Chopra, 26, has played down suggestions he could be bound for Chris Hughton’s Championship leaders, by insisting he will remain with the Bluebirds.
