Marc Janko has again been linked with Birmingham City Football Club.

Alex McLeish has been given a transfer kitty of £40million this month, and he has already used £3million of this to take midfielder Michel from Sporting Gijon.

The Spaniard was a long-term target for the Blues, and the same could be said of Janko, the prolific Austrian who has seven goals in 14 international outings.

The 26-year-old has an even more impressive record at club level with Red Bull Salzburg, who, according to the Daily Mail, want just £6.5million for his signature.

With the likes of Sunderland demanding as much as £15million for Kenwyne Jones, McLeish may well decide a deal for Janko is the better option.
