It has been well documented that Blues manager Alex McLeish has plenty of cash to spend this month, with Carson Yeung handing him a £40million budget.

Celtic star Aiden McGeady is a top target, but the St Andrews boss is refusing to meet the staggering asking price of £10million for the Republic of Ireland international.

The Daily Mail believes McLeish will instead turn his attention to Reading star McAnuff, the much-travelled Jamaican international cap.

The 28-year-old only joined the Madejski Stadium in the summer, but he has impressed since and could now be offered the chance of a move to the Premier League.
