Dean Marney believes his Hull City Football Club pal Michael Turner can play for England.

The defender has played an integral part in the Tigers amazing first season in the Premier League, and Marney has tipped him to win a call-up to Fabio Capello's squad.

"On present form he's got to be up there with the best centre-halves around. Not only is he scoring goals but it's his all-round performances," Marney told the Hull Daily Mail.

"I'm sure if he keeps going the way he is then there's going to be a lot of people taking a lot of notice of him. It's unbelievable. He just keeps getting better and better with every game."
