Arsenal set sights on Eduardo replacement (Video)
12:00 PM 19 January, 2010
Arsenal Football Club are said to be targeting a move for Mario Mandzukic.

The 23-year-old striker is perhaps best known in England for scoring against Fabio Capello’s side in September 2008, albeit a consolation in that famous 4-1 defeat for Croatia.

Mandzukic is currently contracted to Dinamo Zagreb, who signed him in the summer of 2007 in a €1.3million deal NK Zagreb when Eduardo left for the Emirates Stadium.

The Croatian duo could soon be lining up alongside each other if a report in the Mail on Sunday is correct, which states Arsene Wenger could bid for him this month.

The Gunners are in a great position to challenge for honours this season, but the injury to Robin van Persie remains a concern and a replacement is being sought.

Mandzukic can also play on the wing which would give Wenger an extra option, although his best position is centre-forward, which is reflected in his return of 34 goals in 65 league games.

Eduardo has not been the same player since his broken leg. Such a big shame he was on fire before that game. I'm gutted I think Eduardo is still a cracking player. All he needs is to find his shooting boots again...? Come Eduardo start putting the goals away. Then you will keep your place in the team...?
