Joe Cole is a target for AC Milan, according to reports in Italy.

It has been well documented that the England international is in the final six months of his contract at Chelsea, which is setting alarm bells ringing amongst the Stamford Bridge faithful.

They know they could lose the midfield player for nothing in the summer, and this is not lost on a number of clubs in the Premier League including rivals Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

And according to reports on Milannews.it, the Rossoneri are also watching the contract situation concerning Cole, who may be tempted to leave England if his deal expires.

The first preference for the 28-year-old, though, is to remain a Chelsea player, and all parties concerned will be hopeful of securing a new deal before the end of the season.
