Manchester City tipped to try for Gerrard
Manchester City Football Club are being tipped to try for Steven Gerrard in the summer.
The Daily Mail claim the England international will quit his boyhood heroes Liverpool at the end of the season, as he looks to add more trophies to his honours list.
Rafael Benitez’s side have failed to launch a bid for the Premier League title this season, and this is the one major piece of silverware Gerrard desperately needs.
The report suggests Blues manager Robert Mancini is confident he can lure the 29-year-old to Eastlands, and will make an audacious bid for him in the summer.
However, Gerrard has assured the Liverpool fans that he has no intention to quit Merseyside, and indeed has even said such speculation is laughed off at Anfield.
Even if the midfielder was to quit his beloved Reds, it is hugely doubtful he would remain in England, and would more than likely look to end his career in Spain or Italy.
