Daniel De Ridder hopes to be given a run in the Wigan Athletic Football Club side.
The Dutch midfielder made his first Premier League start for his new club in the 3-2 loss at Liverpool, and he now hopes to be given the nod to line-up against Aston Villa this weekend.
"It was nice to play. I've had to be patient because the team has been doing well,” De Ridder told the Wigan Evening Post. "I was training well, staying sharp and finally I got my chance.
"Hopefully I can go on like this and get the opportunity to impress even more. We played with three midfielders and two wingers at Liverpool, so I got my chance with Antonio Valencia playing inside.
"Antonio is out for the next game but I'm not really thinking about that at the moment. The Villa match is a big one for us. It should be a good game against a big team.”
