Arsene Wenger is confident William Gallas will sign a new deal with Arsenal Football Club.

The France international is out of contract in the summer, and despite him being 32, Wenger is prepared to offer the defender a new two-year deal.

"Yes, it's going well," said Wenger. "Let's keep the negotiations confidential. If we get to a conclusion, we will let you know. At the moment, I think it's better we don't talk about it.

"It is not long ago [since we last held talks], a week ago, something like that."
