James Tomkins has urged Matthew Upson to stay at West Ham United Football Club.

The England international has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this month, but Tomkins believes the 30-year-old must stay at Upton Park.

"Matty is a great captain," he said. "For me he has been brilliant because I've learned so much from him. We work very well together. It's massive that we keep him, but that's out of my hands."

The successful takeover from David’s Gold and Sullivan has brought renewed hope that the Hammers won’t have to sell their star players, which certainly includes Upson.
