Sir Alex Ferguson believes Wayne Rooney can hit 30 goals for Manchester United this season.

The England international is in the form of his life this term, but his manager believes there is even more to come from the number ten before the campaign draws to a close.

"Wayne has got 20 goals and the crucial part of the season is coming up," said Ferguson. "He could easily get above 30. His ratio at the moment suggests that."

Rooney has already scored more Premier League goals this season than any of his previous years, and is close to beating his 23 goals in all competitions back in 2006/07.
