Carlo Ancelotti is convinced Nicolas Anelka will stay at Chelsea Football Club.
Talks over a new contract for the 30-year-old have recently hit a brick wall, but despite speculation this could lead to his exit, Ancelotti is confident the striker will remain at Stamford Bridge.
"I think that they are speaking with his agent and they will try to find the right solution for both the club and for him," said the Italian coach. "I'm confident he'll sign.
“Anelka is a top player and this club needs to have a lot of top players. Anelka has told me he wants to stay. He's happy with me. He's happy to work with me, and I'm very happy to work with him.”
As it stands, Anelka, who some would say is enjoying the best season of his career, would be out of contract at the end of the 2011/12 campaign.
