An injury to Nigel Reo-Coker means he will see the season out at Aston Villa Football Club.

The midfielder was a reported target for Everton and Tottenham Hotspur, but a stress fracture to his ankle will leave him on the sidelines for three months.

"Nigel will be out for some considerable time - it's turned out to be a stress fracture - so he might miss 12 weeks," Villa boss Martin O’Neill told the club's official website.

"That's a major blow to us."
