Gago an £18million option for Manchester City
02:30 PM 29 January, 2010
Manchester City Football Club have been given the green light to move for Fernando Gago.

The Blues have been heavily linked with the midfielder since the transfer window reopened, despite the number of quality players they already have in this position.

It has been reported that whilst Real Madrid would rather keep the talented 23-year-old, they are prepared to offload him providing an offer of £18milion is tabled.

This shouldn’t be a problem for mega-rich City, and Gago is said to fancy the move as it would give him a better chance of regular first team football.

The Argentine international has made five appearances in La Liga this season, of which three have been starts, and he fears this could damage his chances of making the World Cup squad.
