Benni McCarthy is expected to join West Ham United Football Club this weekend.

The Londoners have had an offered accepted for the player by Blackburn Rovers, and he has also agreed personal terms on a move to Upton Park.

But the deal has been held up due to work permit problems, although Rovers boss Sam Allardyce expects this to be resolved by Sunday.

“It's close to him finally becoming a West Ham player. It's a work permit situation, that's the only hiccup and that should be resolved by Sunday,” he said.
