Blackburn Rovers star urges Beattie swoop
02:30 PM 30 January, 2010
David Dunn would love to see James Beattie return to Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

The striker began his career at Ewood Park before leaving for Southampton in 1998, as part of the deal which took Kevin Davies to Lancashire.

Now at Stoke City, Beattie has struggled for form this season and had a bust-up with Tony Pulis last month, and reports suggest Sam Allardyce wants him back at Rovers.

“I've not spoken to Beatts about it too much but I think we'd be his preferred choice," said Dunn. "It's the other stuff, like the fee, which would be a stumbling block.

“But I do know he'd do well here. I also feel it would go down well with the fans because it's always good to have local players in the side."
