Stoke City Football Club have made a £3million bid for Asmir Begovic.

Tony Pulis has been on the lookout for a new goalkeeper all month, and was close to landing David James from Portsmouth on loan earlier this month.

That move broke down over the 39-year-old’s wages and who should pay them, but the Potters are now hoping to business with Pompey for Begovic.

It is being reported that Stoke have had an offer of £3million tabled for the 22-year-old, who is believed to be keen on a move to the Britannia Stadium.
