Sunderland could return for Al-Muhammadi
02:00 PM 02 February, 2010
Sunderland Football Club could return for Ahmed Al-Muhammadi in the summer.

The Black Cats were keen to land the 22-year-old Egyptian international on deadline day, but their offer was rejected by ENPPI, who wanted more than £2million.

"Sunderland offered £2million plus 20 per cent of the next sale," agent Nader Shawki told website Filgoal. "Unfortunately ENPPI do not want to sell him before the end of the season.

"He is keen to make the move. He wants to play in England and knows that Sunderland are a good side. We hope we can find a solution with the board soon."

It is believed that Steve Bruce remains keen to sign Al-Muhammadi, and the Black Cats manager will pick up his interest in the defender when the summer widow opens.
